20 years ago when the road to Paternoster was still a dirt track Ruth and Andrew arrived with all their earthly possessions and a dream, to create a very special place. A place called Gelukkie.

They were inspired by the unique West Coast environment. Authentic, creative people and the stark contrast of the earthy fynbos, white-washed fisherman’s cottages set against the turquoise of the Atlantic Ocean.

They went about creating a place with relaxed, quirky charm that communicates peace and beauty to visitors the minute they step into Gelukkies’ welcoming space. It is a family run farm offering weddings, functions and accommodation options with delightful creativity and shabby-chic style.
