Our journey with energy efficiency and preparedness started many years ago when owner Johan van der Watt implemented cost-saving measures in the cut-throat retail environment he worked in at the time.
He not only understood the necessity of efficiency and sustainability but also kept a keen eye on South Africa’s unfolding energy crisis and became one of the very first local retailers in Worcester to adopt full-service backup power during load shedding more than a decade ago.
The idea for Solar Clean Cape was then born when he noticed a decrease in output from his own solar equipment and started researching solar cleaning industries across the globe.
He spotted a gap in the South African market, did thorough research into the best available equipment and international best practice, and established Solar Clean Cape.
Today the business is equipped with accredited training on the basic principles of solar technology and maintenance, a professional solar-specific cleaning system imported from Germany, and an agile setup that allows the team to travel across the Western Cape and to start and finish a job within hours.
